NY Fashion Week - Last Loves

Fashion Week has now moved onto London and I am looking forward to the shows.  The Capitan is finally home so I am breathing easy again.  These are the last looks from New York, that really spoke to me.  I love the Michael Kors  jet set look and he has again delivered a very wearable collection, which is what I look for these days.  Quite a strong colour look for summer, but great clean lines and flattering silhouettes.

Love the green and navy combo and that tunic top is fabulous.

Oscar de la Renta sent out some gorgeous looks in creams and whites, those little suits with cut out details would make a wonderful bridal look for those who don't do the whole big dress thing.  That oh so chic sleeveless trouser suit is so 70's fabulous it is telling me so many stories of the adventures you would have whilst wearing it... I do love when clothes speak to me.

I hope your weekends are going well, ours will have some good food and a little beach time as the weather is beautiful.  Enjoy friends.

NY Fashion Week - Belstaff

I spoke to soon people, and have my dates mixed up for the Fashion Weeks, I blame the imminent return of the Capitan tomorrow!  Belstaff the British company that has been going since 1924 with their motocross clothing has done a stella job of moving into RTW.  I would happily wear all their looks and have a particular fondness for their boiler-suit, I know!  Bravo Martin Cooper for creating a very wearable and lust-able collection.

The jacket is still visible but so much prettier in stripes.

Hello, very cool boiler-suit...

What do you think, do you love it as much as I do?

Well I best get back to my broom and the war on dog hair that is a constant in my life, so excited about the boys return tomorrow I can't keep still.  Happy Tuesday my darlings, and I will be back with any more collections that have me looking forward to next year when I find them.

NY Fashion Week - Tommy Hilfiger

Well the first fashion week is drawing to a close and I must say I am not blown away, nothing particularly new and far to many layers and think fabrics for the type of summers (hot) that we all seem to be having, and are still having.  I did enjoy the street style and could actually see myself in most of Tommy Hilfiger's RTW line, he stuck with good old red, white and blue and enough spots and stripes to keep this girl very happy.
What do you think?

I am loving all these suits, Pj style goes to town.  Soft, silky and so easy to wear.

That red and peachy/blush beige short suit is wonderful and those shoes look pretty amazing too.

Could you see yourself in these look?  What's your take on NY Fashion Week?

Emerson Fry - Fall Line

The first of the September storms have arrived early here and it is finally cool enough to breath and start thinking of clothes again.  It may only be for a few days but I am making the most of it, with cold weather clothes dreaming and I may even turn the oven on again for a roast, pure joy.  Great timing as Emerson has just given us a sneak peak of her Fall line, enjoy....

...The wonderfully stylish Emerson Fry has just unveiled the first looks from her Fall line and it is love.  That girl just knows what we all want to wear before we do.  Coats that will sit happily in wardrobes for ten years or more and never date, just great cuts and some fun prints...Leopard, who knew I needed this, but I do.

Leopard love in a classic cut that will add to any cold weather look.

That coat, that knit the tucked in hair, all on my to do list for Fall.  Stylish and cool, I can do that, well I am going to give it a good try.

Pea coats and ankle boots.

Camo pants with ox blood patent heels, so very right.

You can sign up for the first looks arriving here or start saving your pennies like me for when it will actually be cool enough to wear these lovelies.  Ooh I can not wait for the rest of the line to show, it's going to be a goody I can feel it.

Have a wonderful weekend my loves, my Capitan is on his final trip and will be home in twelve days, I am so darn excited it's silly.

Mango, Kate Moss & Longing For Coolness.

Hello all, well after a month off I was hoping to be refreshed, but I should have waited for August.  It is now so darn hot, all day and all night that I am looking like a limp rag and clothes and make up are just too much. Hehe, it gets me every year, so the paddling pool is where you will find me and Poppy for the next few weeks or fighting over the best spot for the fan, oh how I long for American air con, so much better than the European version.

A new trick is to watch Christmas films to feel cool and peruse the coming looks for Autumn, it's a plan of sorts.  I came across the Fall Campaign for Mango featuring Kate Moss, who looks stunning and the clothes are rather good too.  I shall be sporting a few of these looks once I can bare to wear clothes again.  My wish list has begun...

A soft leather jacket.

Worn in jeans and a smart jacket with gold buttons.

A classic combo with updated shapes is a must.

And the denim shorts can stay out for a little while longer...

Have you started your Autumn wish list yet and do you have any tips for me to stay cool this August?  Have a great weekend all and stay cool.  ax

Made - Cornflake Clusters

I have been enjoying those new cluster chocolates that Crunchie and a few others make, unfortunately we don't really have them here and when we do they are rather expensive, so I thought I would make my own.   They were really easy to make and they tasted divine.  I managed to get some photos before I ate them all....

I used a few chopped up cherries in mine as I had them in the fridge but the store ones normally have raisins in, but I think you could use whatever you fancy.

My chocolate bar (that was also in the fridge) had chopped almonds in, so I did not have to add any extra nuts, but that is also down to your preference.

Well I hope your weekends were good and all of you with the 4th of July celebrations this week, have a wonderful time.   Enjoy the chocs and if you come up with any new combination let me know, as I know I will be making these again, and again.

APC - French Style To Love Forever.

Hello my loves, so I've been thinking about eternal style as I reach for the same old tired dresses again, and again.  When the weather is boiling (as it is now) comfort and coolness are my number one priority along with wanting to look good.  Enter the uniform, I think on some level we all have a uniform, those styles and looks we go for time and time again, when we don't want to think too hard about what to wear.  Mine is rather basic but it is there, only the pieces are old and not looking as good as they once did.  I have decided to invest a bit more in these items, as they work so hard.   I will of course high street it for those fun bits we all need to stop us getting bored, bored, bored.

Enter A.P.C. the French clothing store, that has great timeless pieces in great fabrics.  There online store is a good one and simply set out with a current sale on.

I love dresses for ease and this range in cotton and silk would work hard in my wardrobe and not look dated a few years down the line, a classic ballet pump will never just sit in the back of a wardrobe.

Shirts and t's in silk, cotton and fine Merino wool will allow many chic looks to be pulled together.  I am in LOVE with the gorgeous navy leather skirt, a classic shape and not too short if your little like me and could be worn all year round, plus it is on sale at the moment....Oh be still my heart.

These items are forever pieces and I have a few in wardrobe already, classic dark and white jeans, a trench and good leather pieces in tan or navy.  A little too warm for now but add all this together and you have a great basic wardrobe that will see you though anything.  I have stuck to my colours for the mix and match quality, which I think is at the heart of a strong wardrobe, just imagine adding a cherry red scarf, a kelly green belt or spots and stripes.  Styling and accessories are where you can go mad with colour, pattern and texture.

So what do you think, will you build a strong core wardrobe with me?  What would be your picks for the basic colours?  Plus any good stores you can introduce me too, yes J. Crew but I'd love more.

I hope your all have fun things planned for the weekend, with a little time for lolling around at the beach, pool or in the back garden.  Well it IS summer after all.  Enjoy my darlings.  ax
